Expressway and Qatar Economic Zone 3 teams in Qatar highlighted the importance of Breast Cancer Awareness by wearing pink! The masks are reusable in line with Egis drive to sustainability. Pink is a way to go!
As COVID19 pandemic is far from being over, many countries are applying preventive measures to reduce the infection rates, one of them being wearing masks. In the United Arab Emirates, masks are obligatory outside private residences; this means that they must be worn even in the office when leaving one’s desk.
With sustainability at heart, Egis in the UAE offered an alternative solution to single use masks: the employees can chose to use washable masks.
The masks are 3 layered, breathable, with an option to add an additional filter, and with adjustable ear loops. They are easy to wash and most importantly – they will seriously reduce the amount of waste created by the single use masks.
Other Egis offices in the region are following the suit and we hope that all Egis locations will offer the same choice to the employees.

Qatar Rail and its state-of-the art project, The Doha Metro, won CIHT (The Chartered Institution of Highways & Transportation) International Award 2020.
Carefully chosen out of 5 shortlisted project and companies, the Doha Metro, has proven its importance on the local communities.
Phase 1 of the project included 3 lines with 37 stations: the Red Line, also known as the Coast Line; the Green Line, called the Education Line; and Gold (Historic) Line. The future phases, planned for the completion in 2026, include the additional Blue line and the extension of the existing ones, increasing the number of stations to 60.
Mostly underground, the Doha Metro has already proven its positive impact on Doha and the surroundings: decreased traffic and car pollution, shortened commute times and affordability of travel.
But it is not only the practicality of the project that matters – the Doha Metro was designed with Qatari culture in mind. The stations are located adjacent to the most important landmarks, and they blend into the local culture. The heritage of the Arabic culture and Bedouin tents has been carried out through the design of shapes and art, making the journey the most enjoyable and comfortable.
Egis in JV with Louis Berger/WSP provided PMC services for Phase 1 of Doha Metro. Egis’ involvement in the project continues with the Assets Inspection assignment with the operator.
